This silk scarf was inspired by my first trip to Bali Indonesia 20 years ago when I was living there to learn the technique of Batik. In the beach village of Lovina there is this large stone statue of a dolphin with a crown! Lovina is famous for its early morning dolphin watching along its coast. The stone dolphin was quite plain but the crown was grandiose. I imagined spotting the real royal dolphin with a crown on my early morning dolphin watching. The Tropical leaf also represents the first time in Bali. Upon exiting the plane I was in awe, I've never seen so many different shades of green all around and these large beautiful tropical leaves growing wild everywhere. I remember one day while walking along the rice fields with my Balinese friends and it started to rain. My friends just cut some of those large leaves to use as umbrellas and we were on our way.
